Fans to economy will find a lot of places in Europe this summer, which they can visit for free.
In Madrid, you can visit the palace Liria that has belonged to the Duchess of Alba completely free of charge. A large collection of works of art of Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany, France and Great Britain is assembled in the palace. Free tours are held on Fridays from 10 to 11 in the morning.
In the picturesque Trastevere district of Rome, on the west bank of Tiber, (from July 18) the festival Festa de Noantri will be held for eight days. All the tourists who will come to this festival will be able to have free meals of the local cuisine, listen to outdoor concerts and watch the colorful religious procession.
In the German town of Leipzig the company Porsche offers free tours to everyone in its factory. Guides tell and show to tourists how such cars as Cayenne and Panamera are assembled. The free tour also includes visits to the Museum of the History of Porsche. For an additional fee you can have lunch in the factory canteen or order a test drive.
“Friday evening fever” in Paris is an entertainment for the rollers. Zurich is known as an expensive city. However Fraumunster church can be visited quite freely. The building is built in the XIII century, you can admire one of stained glass, created by Alberto Giacometti, and the five stained glass works by Marc Chagall.
You can visit the monument dedicated to Frank Zappa – a cult musician of the 60-s of the last century, in Vilnius. It is located in the area Uzupis, known for its artistic cafes, art galleries and open studios.
Lastly, in Amsterdam it is free to visit the factory, where wooden shoes are manufactured. Visitors to the factory will be able to observe the way in which workers manually hew out, and then paint this traditional Dutch footwear. Characteristically, the process of manufacturing shoes has not changed since the XIV century.
