You work hard for the money you earn. Your job can stress you out; make you antsy and restless, all for a paycheck. But then that time of year comes when you get to use that little thing called “paid vacation time.” Because your job is stressful, you want to find a vacation that won’t. You need something that will help relieve your stress and leave you feeling calm, relaxed, and euphoric. This year, you’re going to a spa resort in Florida and getting pampered beyond your wildest dreams.
When preparing for a spa vacation, packing is only the first less-stressful task for you to complete. You will only need to pack light, as the spa will supply you with many of the things you’ll need for this relaxing vacation.
What TO Bring:
1. Swimsuits
Yes, bring more than one swimsuit. Some spas offer water aerobics courses, so bringing a one-piece suit would prove beneficial for that. But also bring a two-piece swimsuit or bikini for those moments you spend sunbathing outdoors.
2. Exercise clothes
While you won’t be doing any heart-pounding, high-intensity workout classes (unless you want to), you should still bring a variety of exercise clothes for your stay at the spa. Plan on bringing clothes that would work for stretching and yoga courses; clothes that are lightweight but aren’t too baggy will keep you from tripping over your clothes while doing the various poses.
3. Climate-Ready Wear
Some spa resorts are in cooler-climate areas, others in warmer. As with any vacation, you need to pack appropriate clothes for the climate area. Do your researching a few days before you leave. Check the forecast for temperatures and precipitation so you can pack accordingly, if you ever decide to explore outside the spa.
4. Footwear
Bring a variety of footwear for your trip. You’ll most likely be wearing sandals, if any shoes at all, during your time inside the spa. But don’t hesitate to pack other shoes, like tennis shoes or dress shoes, if you plan on going out or having a nice dinner elsewhere.
What NOT TO Bring:
1. Cosmetics
You should arrive at the spa with only the makeup you applied before the trip. There is no need to bring any shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, or any type of makeup, as they will all be supplied by the spa. If you have particular allergies to certain dyes or chemicals used in cosmetics, let the spa know at the time of your reservation and they will accommodate you.
2. Towels, Blankets, Pillows
These are other major items spas will have for you. After all, they are a place of relaxation, and will have the most comfortable linens they can supply. Plus, bringing along your own towels, blankets, and pillows will likely remind you of home and all the stresses that come with those thoughts.
3. A Bad Attitude
This is a vacation! Bringing along a bad attitude or constantly worrying about work-related issues during your vacation is going to prevent you from doing what you spent money on this vacation for: relaxing! This is your opportunity to forget about everything that stresses you out, and just letting other people take care of you for a change. We told you to pack light, and a bad attitude is a lot of extra baggage you don’t need.
Consider these tips before heading out on your next spa vacation. It is always important to take an occasional vacation to help you relieve the stress of your everyday life, so go out, explore, and have fun!
