Greater Antilles:
Cuba
Welcome to Cuba! It is an island of freedom, a country of Che Guevara, Cuban cigars, rum pirate. All of this is enough to move straight to this island. This is a country of carnival, music, nightlife, beautiful royal palms, gentle Atlantic Ocean. The main advantage of Cuba as a vacation spot is its cheapness and multiple hotel reservation options. This is largely explained by the lack of infrastructure and corresponding to world standards – Castro socialism for this is not the best basis. The second advantage of Cuba is the possibility of fishing. Moreover there is no better place in the world for this activity.
Haiti
Española (also known as Haiti). On this island, there is not a single but two various countries – Haiti and the Dominicana (the same Dominican Republic).
Dominican Republic – one of the most popular among tourists in Latin America. Dominican Republic is simply ideal for a beach holiday – beautiful sandy beaches (fine white sand), almost everywhere – shallow water, lack of Tropical stuffiness, the temperature of the Caribbean in winter is 25 … +26 C in summer – 27 … +28 C. In addition, the country is still a center of sex tourism, which is a great chance for the single men. The most favorable season is from December to late April. This means you better hurry up with your choice. On most beaches in the Dominican Republic there are no sharks or other dangerous sea creatures, as they are separated from the ocean by coral reefs. And in the open sea swimming is dangerous, because the nature of coastal flows quite rapidly and a number of beaches is framed by underwater rocks.
Puerto Rico (U.S.)
Climatic and natural conditions of the island of Puerto Rico is similar to other islands of the Caribbean archipelago. Tourism in Puerto Rico is a mix of recreation on the beaches, diving and climbing in caves (here, the largest underground river of the world). Best season is from January to April. Ocean is quite friendly, offering it guest swimmers +25 C temperature, constantly blowing breeze – salubrious sea breeze.
All over the coast there are multiple resort towns and interesting spots. In the capital, San Juan, the most popular holiday in terms of Green Island (Isla Verde), with white sand and coconut palms. Not far from the capital is the best beach in the country – Likullo.
In all the resort areas of Puerto Rico there is a great opportunity for diving (underwater visibility in the Caribbean – 30 meters), but preferably all the same south shore, where the shelf forms a picturesque underwater wall. Different types of complexity are available for the diving (including night diving opportunities).
Jamaica
Jamaica, of course, like any other Caribbean country that offers tourists white beaches, coconut palms and diving in crystal clear water is an ideal spot for vacation. However, Jamaica has one more specialization – sex tourism.
Cayman Islands (UK)
These islands are located in south of Cuba. Like all Caribbean islands they represent an excellent opportunity for diving and snorkelling. Reefs abound with fish (stingrays, barracudas), turtles, crustaceans, orange sponges. Popular tourist attraction in the Cayman Islands is the immersion in water on a submarine with glass walls.
