There are so many hotels in Lisbon that it becomes almost difficult for a tourist to find a good quality for a good sum of money. We search the Internet, read the reviews, and hope we get lucky with the choice.
If you think accommodation is not one of the top priorities to save money for (and naturally spend it after), here’s a nice hotel that provides the most important conveniences, including fantastic design, and a possibility to save up the money for shopping or sightseeing.
Evidencia Astoria Creative Hotel is one of the best medium-range hotels in Lisbon. I would even say it’s just a little bit more than medium-range due to some crucial features like cleanliness.
We have talked a lot about boutique and design hotels. There are so many of them in the city, that you won’t feel a lack of mind-blowing design and architecture. Evendencia presents itself by using a new type of hotels, i. e. creative hotel. While it’s naturally a great way to stand out from the others, creative hotels are the same as design hotels. Their main stress is not on luxury or simplicity, but the interesting decorations and styles. In any case, it’s always pleasant to wake up in a “creative” room, so the name has only a positive impact.
The hotel has 91 rooms in total. The majority are double and triple, which makes it a great accommodation for groups of tourists. The rooms are equipped with mini-bars, TVs, and WiFi. However, the last one must not be a reason for excitement. You won’t get any super-mega-extra-high speed connection, just enough to check your e-mail and a few other must-dos. The hotel also offers a car hire, which will come handy if you’re planning to visit other Portuguese destinations. As for the city, public transport is easily accessible to almost everywhere. The car will only limit your freedom while sightseeing.
The reception is open day and night everyday. Should you need anything, you can contact them and ask for help. They also speak good English, so reserve the Portuguese for bars and cafes.
Unfortunately, the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant when you can start exploring the Portuguese cuisine. It looks like you will have to find other options, like’ combining Fado entertainment, Alfama sightseeing, and having a meal. There is only a breakfast room in the hotel, so you’ll never leave the building hungry in the mornings. Despite the absence of a restaurant, there is a nice bar/lounge, where you can relax and try the best Portuguese drinks.
The hotel is located near the biggest park of Lisbon, Parque Eduardo VII. It’s also 15 minutes away from the downtown, therefore, the majority of museums and sites.
If you don’t have high demands, this hotel will be a great option. It’s cheap, comfortable, and stylish. The features that can’t be found in the hotel can be used for your own good, liking making you explore the city more.
