We are officially into the second half of the year and, while we are still in the middle of summer, it can be easy to forget that now is the time to start thinking about booking the annual Christmas party.
The office Christmas party comes in all shapes and sizes, with some merely electing to decorate their workstations with festive decorations and build a playlist incorporating the usual classics. Others, though, like to push the boat out and really throw a party to remember at some of Britain’s most iconic locations, especially if they have enjoyed a good year.
London
Unsurprisingly, London is a hugely popular place to go to for Christmas parties, with a plethora of hotels and venues offering an ideal spot. Many companies pay for their staff to see a show at of one the capital’s famous theatres, or to simply enjoy London’s vibrant night life.
For places to go, Leicester Square offers a great variety of venues for a Christmas party, as well as restaurants and other entertainment. Around the time that you will be looking to book your party for, London’s Hyde Park plays host to Winter Wonderland, offering a tonne of amusement and festive activities.
Nottingham
Depending on where you are based in Britain, planning a Christmas party around the Midlands could be the best route to take. Nottingham boasts a series of stunning venues, offering their own take on a winter wonderland and providing a room that is perfect for the annual office event.
Located in Nottingham city centre in the run-up to Christmas is the city’s own Winter Wonderland amusement, which offers all of the fantastic features as seen in London. Visiting Nottingham’s Christmas market makes for a great stop off either on the way to or from the office party.
Edinburgh
When it comes to planning the Christmas party, you, of course, want to ensure that the venue is part of a vibrant nightlife in the city, and you are guaranteed to get that anywhere in Edinburgh. The Scottish capital is known for its party atmosphere, particularly around the festive period, and booking your office party north of the border will certainly mean no early nights!
If you do plan to head to Edinburgh this winter but not for Christmas, taking part in the world famous New Year Hogmanay celebrations is a must. The party features on many people’s bucket lists and, when you watch coverage of the celebrations on the news, it is easy to see why Edinburgh is a must!
Lincoln
Give your Christmas party the more traditional feel in the medieval city of Lincoln, with plenty of excitement wherever you turn during the festive period. A small but busy city, Lincoln features one of the best markets in Britain at this time and a range of scenic venues perfect for hosting the party of the year!
Historic landmarks such as the cathedral and Norman Castle really do set an extraordinary festive scene that you simply have to experience for yourself. When the party is over, it has in fact only just begun with Lincoln home to a lively night life that locals and tourists enjoy all year round, which of course has an extra spring in its step around Christmas time.
Although Christmas may not be at the forefront of your thoughts while the sun is beaming down, places will be booked up before you know. Should you leave your inquiries until closer to the time, the best that you can hope for is a disappointing evening that your colleagues will be desperate to forget.
