As I’m recently in the mood for luxury, royal style, and comfort, let’s continue the thread of luxurious hotels in Lisbon. Somehow the city enforces a special atmosphere on the tourist, the richness of history and culture, the brilliant architecture makes you want only the best in Lisbon, the hotel as well.
And it’s Hotel Avenida Palace‘s turn this time. One of the best and most popular hotels in the city. Everything about this place is great, the services, the location, the design, . . . everything.
When they say this hotel is a palace, they don’t mean the name only. The hotel really looks like a luxurious palace, you would even expect a royalty, preferably a Prince Charming come out of the building. This is how real it feels like to stand in front of the building and imagine a fairy-tale.
The building is absolutely fantastic. It was designed by José Luís Monteiro in 1892. The scene is a very bright example of romanticism. One of the features of this hotel is the class. If you are a kind of person that takes style into consideration and wants their vacation to be as classy as they are, then this hotel is a worthy choice.
There are 82 rooms in the hotel, a normal number, but still, make sure to make a reservation beforehand. Needless to say, the rooms are designed and are furnished with good taste.
It is quite expensive, never think that a luxurious hotel like this can be cheap, but the quality of the rest you can get here is also as high as the price.
Now, let’s pass on to the conveniences and services that seem interesting for me. You don’t have to speak Portuguese, English is also accepted due to the multilingual staff, but I’m sure this is out of the extraordinary list, after all, we’re talking luxury here.
The first one is the currency exchange. It’s a savior to have the exchange right in the building, you don’t have to spend the precious time for going to a bank or finding an exchange spot.
The next one is the babysitting service. What a great idea! Naturally, you can take your kids to many Lisbon attractions that will be particularly interesting for them. But there always comes a time when parents would love to have a romantic dinner in a high-class restaurant, while leaving the kids alone might not be a good decision. There you go, here’s a way out.
Next, have you ever seen a library in a hotel? This is the first time personally for me. It turns out Hotel Avenida Palace has a library, where you can spend some quality time reading different publications and have access to Internet. If you have a laptop of your own, you can search the net from your room: the hotel offers free Wi-Fi for guests.
The location is also perfect, it’s very close to Alfama, Castelo de São Jorge, Sé Cathedral, Chiado, and other attractions.
I would love to stay at this hotel, the reviews are so encouraging that I’m about to book a room right now. If you have already done that, then there’s nothing else to add rather than have a great time and don’t forget to enjoy every minute at the Palace.
