Mount Bromo
One of Indonesia’s most famous and most beautiful active volcanoes located in the Java Island, Mount Bromo (almost 2,400-meter-high) is a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, covering a massive area of eight hundred square kilometers. Mount Bromo typically erupts about once a year, rarely spitting debris and hot gas far from its crater. A popular tourist attraction, especially for adventure enthusiasts, a visit to Mount Bromo is an adventure in itself.
There are several ways to get to the volcano with the major being the village of Cemoro Lawang at the northeast edge. The sunrise on the Bromo, between five and six o’clock (when the temperature is between 0 and 5°C), is something tourists should not miss out. From this spot the vista is simply magnificent.
Arenal Volcano
The country of Costa Rica is known around the world for its spectacularly beautiful natural wonders, one of the main natural attractions being the Arenal Volcano. There are few places on Earth where you can view an active volcano and Arenal is a such kind of place, offering unforgettable experience. The area offers much more than just volcano watching. Activities like white river rafting, canopy tours, waterfall hikes and horseback riding are also available. Near the foot of the volcano you will find La Fortuna – a tiny town, from where you can admire the superb beauty of the volcano’s awe-inspiring fireworks.
With bountiful lush rainforests, inspiring canyons and hot springs gurgling up the base of it, Arenal Volcano, rising some 1,657 meters above sea level, is a place that allures to be explored and experienced. The volcano is easily accessible from either San Jose or Liberia.
Kilauea
Kilauea is the most active Volcano in the world. Located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, some 30 miles southwest of Hilo, it is a flat shield low volcano and the newest of a series of volcanoes, which have created the Hawaiian Archipelago. Currently, producing 250,000 to 650,000 cubic yards of lava per day, the volcano draws the attention of many travelers from all corners of the world.
Kilauea has had 34 eruptions since 1952. The most recent started in 1983 and is still going today. Volcano is the perfect base from where you can explore many interesting sites.
