What’s not to love about Paris in springtime? Flowers in full bloom create bursts of vibrant colour around the city’s parks; the tree-lined streets blush with baby-pink blossom as birds chirp and the Seine shimmers under a spring sun. There might, of course, be the odd April shower but a dash to a nearby romantic café makes it all worthwhile. Best of all, with spring comes Easter and in Paris that means just one thing; chocolate.
Any self-respecting chocoholic should be booking cheap flights to France at this time of year.Patisseries and boulangeries groan under the weight of beautiful, eye-catching and taste-bud teasing treats. Chocolate bunnies, golden brioche and shiny cellophane wrapped eggs in wicker baskets, to rainbow-coloured macaroons and decadent truffles adorn Paris’ windows. It is almost impossible to walk more than a few feet without gazing longingly into every shop you pass.
Put a spring in your step this Easter with Paris flights. Whether it’s the religious Lenten festival that draws you or the promise of chocolate confections, Paris brims over with events and activities including classical concerts, church services and ‘eggcellent’ Easter egg hunts the kids will love. The fantastic Foire de Trone (Funfair) comes into town bringing with it all the traditional fun of a county fair. Get ready for big wheels, roller coasters, bumper cars and candy floss galore!

If you want to feel a little more virtuous then why not enter the Paris Marathon that takes place in April and get a wonderful tour of the city at the same time! If you prefer to watch from the side-lines, then cheer on the competitors of the annual Roubaix Cycle Race; a cycling event said to be older then the Tour de France and just as gruelling. The Banlieues Bleues Jazz Festival gives modern music lovers something to look forward to. Majestic Notre Dame Cathedral hosts an arrayof wonderful Easter Services while the stunning sounds of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons emanate from the Sainte Chapelle.

Complementing the already outstanding art’s scene in Paris, the Foire de Paris at the Porte de Versailles is a huge expo-like event with three sections; home, leisure and world culture while Disneyland Paris makes an unforgettable day out for the kids, if you’re searching for ideas of what to do with them over the Easter break. Bob Dylan, Rock Explosion (1961-1966) is a compelling exhibition of the iconic artist’s protest songs from his glory days, showing at the Cité de la Musique or you could get a little quirky with a visit to the Cinémathèque Française to see the acclaimed Tim Burton exhibition. All the way from the MoMA in New York, this exhibition is guaranteed to enchant audiences young and old.

As the ‘Cloches de Pâques’ or Easter bells chime in Easter morning, children scurry around with glee searching for hidden chocolate treats. But, very best of all, the city can be yours for a day as many shops close and locals leave town to celebrate festivities with their families, leaving you with the soulful streets of romantic Paris all to yourself.
