Britania Hotel is one of the five Heritage Lisbon Hotels. The elegantly furnished hotel, where the spirit of the 1940s soars and rules, has been able to meet the demands of most capricious guests. The hotel includes 33 rooms, out of which only one is junior suite. The rooms are quite comfortable and come with air-conditioning, a free safe, satellite TV, wireless Internet, DVD/LCD reader, slippers, a mini bar and a direct dial telephone. Wake up service is also provided.
The bathrooms include a hairdryer, a bath robe and most importantly, Molton Brown amenities the history of which goes back to the 1973, and which are known to decorate the rooms of mostly five star hotels. So with this hotel you are making a really good choice.
The staff of the hotel is multilingual. The services offered include buffet breakfast, parking, exchange, magazines and newspapers, laundry and a computer with a printer. If you need to rent a car, then the hotel will arrange it for you. The hotel also offers a library; note that not all the hotels come up with such a good idea.
Some of the cons of the hotel are that it doesn’t have a restaurant, neither it is suitable for business meetings and conferences as the hotel lacks meeting rooms. Another thing that visitors should know is that there is no a gym, and if keeping fit is of utmost importance to you, then you should look for a fitness center on your own. Also, the hotel doesn’t offer babysitting services, so families traveling with children should take this into full account.
The hotel is located 50 meters from the popular Avenida de Liberdade. This is one of the best locations for a hotel, since this avenue houses some of the most important and luxurious Lisbon shops and banks. Other than that, the historical center is quite easily accessible.
Some of the popular Lisbon attractions located nearby the hotel are the Botanical Garden, the National Museum of Natural History, Edward VII Park, Church of Sao Roque, Marques de Pombal Square and so on.
