Every Lisbon visitor knows that the River Tagus gives unique charm to Lisbon. The city would probably not be this attractive without the Tagus River and the Vasco da Gama Bridge. In its turn, the bridge would not be this popular if it were only for sightseeing. Thus the river also contributes to the tourism flow of the city by offering them cruises.
We have already discussed that there are daytime and sunset cruises available on the river. The daytime cruise lasts around 4 hours at starts at 2.30 pm while the sunset cruise lasts around two hours and starts at 7 pm. Now it’s high time that we talked about the special offer – the private sunset cruise which although has no restrictions as to who can opt for it but is best suitable for people traveling with their sweethearts.
The private sunset cruise also lasts two hours. The cruise boat can accommodate up to six people. It shows its guests to some of the most popular Lisbon attractions, among them the Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery and Cristo Rei Statue. Out of all attractions, Jeronimos Monastery is something not to miss in Lisbon irrespective of your religious views. While you will not be able to try the Portuguese cuisine on the boat (it’s available on request, though) you will be served a glass of champagne.
In general the private cruise starts at 7 pm and ends at 9 om between May and September and starts at 5 om and ends at 7 pm between October and April. These are the set times, but if you think of another hour that you should arrange it in advance with the local operator. In reality, it’s another thing that makes private tours better over, say, the daytime cruise.
The price of the cruise starts at EUR 25. The price does not include hotel pick-up or gratuities. And as already said, it does not include foods.
It is also noteworthy that wheelchairs are accessible. In this case, you will simply be required to notify the staff in advance. Beyond a shadow of doubt, people with special needs will have no feeling of inconvenience.
