Although India usually attracts travelers of certain kind – hunters for exotic experiences – this country does its best to provide a spectrum of diversity. True, there simply can’t be too much diversity with the colorful and cheerful (and basically anything else that ends with a -ful) culture of India, but the hotel market always hits right to the point.
Let’s talk luxury now. One of the most inspiring hotels in India is located in Udaipur, a city often referred to as “the city of lakes.” The area is the capital of elegance in India, as it boasts with a number of mind-blowing Rajput palaces. But no, don’t worry about having to plan sightseeing tours for them; you can actually stay in one of those palaces. Taj Lake Palace was built in 1746 and occupies an entire island on Pichola Lake.
The building is constructed of splendid marble and features traditional architecture of India in some places. When it comes to the rooms though, the words become less, and exclamations more! If you want one final push, you’ll be happy to know that guests are welcomed to hotel with a shower of flower petals and other royal rituals. The service will leave you thinking there is royal blood in you, and your parents have kept it secret all your life! Not convinced? Let’s talk about the kitchen.
As there is very little space the hotel can expand to, some of its sections are wisely improvised. The floating restaurant is an example. You can book a very expensive dinner on the boat and watch your food being prepared in a floating kitchen.
Still not convinced? Let’s talk about the rooms then.
The Rooms
There are 66 rooms and 17 suits ready to put your wallet on a strict diet. The room categories are Luxury Rooms, Palace Rooms, Royal Rooms, Grand Royal Suites, and Grand Presidential Suite. Well, as you have probably guessed, these rooms have splendid interior and service, worthy of kings and queens, presidents and their wives, or simply very very wealthy people.
Hard to believe it? The guest list of the hotel includes names like Jacqueline Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth II and the King of Nepal. And you could enter a list with these world-famous people (although it’s only a hotel guest list, it’s still flattering).
If you decide to stop at Taj Lake Palace, you don’t have to worry about a bad room. A night here can cost up to $5oo, but is well worth it, if you have the financial resources.
The furniture is maid of wood and decorated with natural silk fabrics. The paintwork also features local features you might see in a museum or a royal palace. The only difference is that the interior decor here is not centuries old, and you are allowed to touch it as much as you’d want.
Some of the rooms even have their own butlers. Besides, the 24-hour reception will generally be ready to fulfill all your demands right way.
The hotel also offers services like spa, yoga, cultural events, astrology sessions (in case you want to gaze at the stars) and more.
Excited? Hold on, it’s much more thrilling when you see the magnificence of this place with your own eyes! A true luxurious experience, with spoonfuls of culture and elegance. This is the recipe for a stay at Taj Lake Palace Hotel.
Have a great royal vacation!
