Chocolate is a source of life for many people. How many people claim to be in as low spirits as possible and to cheer up and be “fully charged” after consuming a piece of chocolate? Of course quality is an asset. The employees of both most prominent and lesser-known companies usually have chocolates on their table, other than a pile of papers. Chocolate is everywhere and there is hardly any part of the world where it is yet unheard of but there are very few places in the world where the chocolate importance has grown to such an extent that they have come up with a festival, which is celebrated at state level.
Lisbon Chocolate Festival is one of the Lisbon events to be part of. The festival is apparently not for people who are keeping diet or are starving to become one of those slim girls from the magazines. It’s for people who can “afford” eating chocolate and much chocolate and although we do not encourage you to eat chocolate in huge amounts every day, we do believe that one day can be an exception.
The festival is all about chocolate and includes the best chocolatiers from Portugal and abroad. The festival features a display of mouth-watering chocolates, bonbons, pastries, crepes, cakes and so on. All this comes with wines and nuts. But one of the most entertaining parts of the festival is the chocolate cooking. Various “classes” are conducted and best chocolate making skills are delivered to you.
This year Lisbon Chocolate Festival took place over February 6-9 at Campo Pequeno in Lisbon. Accordingly, if you haven’t participated in it, then you have missed this awesome festival. But if you got greatly interested in the festival and would like to enjoy it and are planning to visit Portugal very soon, then you should know that in just several days the International Chocolate Festival will start in Obidos.
Obidos is a small town in Portugal with around 3100 inhabitants. Despite its being small, the entire town represents a vivid example of medieval architecture; accordingly, if you think that the International Chocolate Festival is the only point of interest in Obidos, then you are being terribly wrong as you will simply love.
International Chocolate Festival in Obidos will start on March 14 and will last until April 6. Within these days, which pass really quickly in the town, the streets are converted into chocolate showcases. Within the festival, Lisbon tourists and Obidos visitors will be able to see the “International Competition of Chocolate” recipes as well as the “Chocolatier of the Year” competitions.
