The creators of the attractions of Disneyland are continually coming up with new ways of nerve-tickling and increasingly the neck-breaking entertainment. The tongue will not turn to call these inventions roller coasters, though in fact that is what they are, because we cannot say what is more impressive in them – the speed or the environment. Moreover, an untrained adult, it seems, is frightened of the adventure more than a child open to new impressions. Space Mountain
Few can resist screaming when they appear in a trolley, speeding up to the stars in the darkness. The darkness around is so dense that you cannot even see the man sitting in the front. Although the attraction established in 1975, is only two and a half minutes, it collects one of the longest queues at Disneyland, where you can stand one and a half to two hours. Primeval Whirl (Animal Kingdom, Florida)
People with a weak stomach, or a neck injury in the past are advised to refrain from traveling, because the truck speeds up to 46.7 kilometers per hour, and the overload reaches 2.5 accelerations due to gravity. In addition to the steep slope and rotation, four cabins periodically move in a spiral trajectory, and at the same time rotate around their own axis, so that it is impossible to predict where you will be dragged next time. A minute and a half is quite enough to prove on one’s own skin whether the theory that the dinosaurs died because of a meteorite shower is true. The attraction is quite new, built in 2002.
Star Tours (Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Florida)
To visit this attraction, created by George Lucas himself, is absolutely essential for all fans of “Star Wars”. At first, the interior design with almost bare walls, does not make a special impression. But this is only until the beginning of action. The movement of trucks, with four degrees of freedom, is accompanied by a three-dimensional image illustrating the battle space, so that it creates a feeling of complete immersion in the film. The trip lasts four and a half minutes, and, notably, even small children who have attained growth of 40 inch (102 cm) are allowed to the attraction.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Florida)
The travel storyline is simple: Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the band “Aerosmith”, invites those who wish to a concert and invites them to his limo to get there quickly. The journey accompanied by the music of “Aerosmith”, which results in overcoming two dead loops and one corkscrew, lasts only a minute. In the process the limo has time to disperse a speed of a hundred kilometers in 2.8 seconds, and its passengers – to experience an overload reaching five accelerations due to gravity.
Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom, Florida)
In fifteen minutes two missiles loaded with passengers are able to fly round several planets. The attraction lies not in a pavilion, but in the open air, so those who are afraid of heights are not recommended to visit it. Although the distance to the ground is governed by a joystick, but to fly far from the brightly colored planets may not be so interesting. Despite the fact that the attraction seems quite unscary, children under 8 years are not allowed. And even the rockets “spin in the orbit” rather quickly, making 11 rounds per minute.
